Susan F. Dubow, a pioneer in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), has had a long and distinguished career. Susan served as the Director of the Court Mediation and Arbitration Program, the ADR Division of the 17th Judicial Circuit, Broward County, for over 22 years. This division administrates all of the Court's Mediation programs including Circuit Civil, County Court, Small Claims, Citizens Dispute/Criminal, Dependency and Family as well as the Civil Arbitration program. Susan is a Florida Supreme Court Qualified Primary Mediation Trainer and Certified as both a Circuit and County Mediator. She has been appointed to the Supreme Court's Mediation Qualifications Board (MQB).

Susan, an honors graduate of Boston University, is an Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad Law Center. She has developed curriculum and taught mediation and conflict resolution at Florida Atlantic University and Nova Southeastern University.

Susan, a Past president of the Association of South Florida Mediators, is the immediate Past President and a Diplomat Member of The Florida Academy of Professional Mediators (FAPM). In 1999, she was the recipient of FAPM's prestigious Award of Merit and in 2004 Susan was the recipient of the DRC's Award of Appreciation for Distinguished Service. Elinor Robin, PhD., a recognized expert in the field and Conflict Management, has served on the faculty of mediation and dispute resolution symposiums throughout Florida as well as nationally and internationally. Elinor brings her academic pursuits, a background in small business and a wide range of experiences from within the family, juvenile, civil and criminal courts to her teaching.

Elinor is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Florida Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Nationally Certified Counselor (NBCC), Florida Supreme Court Qualified Primary Mediation Trainer, and Florida Supreme Court Certified County, Family and Dependency Mediator.

Elinor is a member of the Florida Supreme Court's Mediation Training Review board, a Past-president of the Association of South Florida Mediators and a Board Member of the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators. Elinor has achieved Practitioner/Educator membership status with the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR). Additionally, she has been appointed to the FL. Supreme Court's ADR Rules Committee's sub committee on Domestic Violence.

Fran Tetunic, Esq. is an Associate Professor of Law and the Director of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Clinic at Nova University's Shepard Broad Law Center.  Additionally, Fran is Chair of the Florida Supreme Court's Mediator Ethics Advisory Committee (MEAC). 

David Spofford, Esq., received his Juris Doctor degree in 1981 from the University of Houston College of Law. David is admitted to the Florida and Texas bars and currently his practice is limited to family mediation - http://www.afriendlydivorce.com. In addition to his law degree David holds a masters degree in computer science and a certificate in life coaching.

Kirk Rascoe, J.D. is the Director, Equal Opportunity and Compliance Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity at The University of South Florida. He has also been appointed to the State’s Diversity Action Council. Kirk earned his J.D at Boston University and has vast experience in the area of Diversity, having spent most of his career in the field. Kirk has been an administrator of Equal Opportunity and Diversity programs, and teacher in the field in both Florida and in California.


James L. Nulman, Esq. is an AV rated attorney with over 25 years civil litigation experiences. In 1995, he became a Certified Circuit Civil Mediator. He is also certified by the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and is a Certified Family Mediator and a State Qualified Arbitrator. In March 2006, Jim established Nulman Mediation Services, Inc., a practice dedicated solely to providing mediation and arbitration services. His early mediation experiences focused on commercial and construction disputes, but over the years that has expanded significantly to include virtually all areas of civil disputes.

Simone, President of Simone Velasquez-Hoover, PA, for over 20 years, is a C.P.A. and FL Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator. She received the AICPA Cetificate of Achievement in Business Valuation, 1996 and is a Certified Valuation Analyst.

Lenore Walker, Ed.D, has been called the “mother” of the “battered woman syndrome”, having identified the syndrome and giving it its name in the 1970’s. This syndrome was first used in treatment planning and then in legal defenses, having changed the way society and the courts regard domestic violence in our country. She has authored 13 books, is recognized as an internationally renown speaker and teacher. She is a Professor at Nova Southeastern University and also maintains a private practice.

Judge Amy Karan, presides over the 11th Judicial Circuit's Domestic Violence Court.  She also serves on the Court's Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, The Florida Bar's Domestic Violence Sub-Committee, The Family Violence Committee of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and the Advisory Panel of the Miami-Dade County Fatality Review Team. 

Judge Edward Garrison,

has been an elected Circuit Court Judge in the 15th Judicial Circuit since 1988. He has served in all divisions of the Circuit and is Past President of the Florida Conference of County Court Judges. He is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit and Family Mediator, Mediation trainer and an Advanced Judicial Instructor. Currently, he serves as the Administrative Judge for the 15th Circuit Court Civil Division.

Robert H. Loevin, Esq., a member of the Florida Bar, has had a distinguished career holding key positions in both the public and private sectors. As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit, Family, Dependency and County Mediator Bob has mediated over 4,500 court cases. Additionally, Bob mediates for the EEOC, NASD, NY Stock Exchange and US Postal Service.

Paul Schweinler, LMHC, Director of the Charis Center, Coral Springs, is President-Elect of The Association of South Florida Mediators. In addition to his counseling and mediation practice, Paul provides Parenting Coordination and Critical Incident Stress Management.

Alvin Capp, Esq., a leader in the South Florida mediation community, received his JD from George Washington University in 1961. As a member of Mediation, Inc Al has mediated over 6,000 cases. In addition to his mediation practice, Al maintains a general civil trial and appellate law practice.

Kenneth A. Gordon, Esq received his Juris Doctor degree cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law. Currently, Ken is a partner in the law firm of Brinkley, McNerney, Morgan, Solomon & Tatum, LLP where he concentrates his practice in the areas of marital and family law. He is a member of the First American Family Law Inns of Court, Barrister, and the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar. Ken is a past Chair of the Executive Council of the Family Law Section of the Broward County Bar Association.
